Impact Statement

Our partnership between Pack Athletics, the Women’s Soccer team and the Pueblo Italian Open truly enhances our student-athlete’s experience during their time here at CSU Pueblo. This partnership is an excellent opportunity to strengthen our ties with the Pueblo community while bolstering support for our program. In 2022, the support of the Italian Open allowed us to purchase wearable technology for our athletes that allows us to track their training loads and keep them healthy and injury free. It has also enhanced our travel budget, allowing us to provide quality meals and lodging to our athletes on away trips. Overall we are extremely grateful for this partnership and look forward to taking a part in the Pueblo Italian Open for years to come!

Sincerely,

Women’s Soccer

About the Tournament

History

In 1991, Ray Pusedu, Sol Raso, Joe Marcovecchio, John Johnson and others had a dream to start a golf tournament in Pueblo, Colorado, to build goodwill and stronger friendships in the community. Over the course of the next 33 years, the Italian Invitational Golf Tournament expanded from a handful of participants to a two-day event —on two courses—featuring more than 400 golfers from 11 states.
